  • Role Overview:

    As a Co-Founder and Technical Leader, you'll guide Visuell’s technical direction and play an essential role in bringing this innovative platform to life. Working closely with artists and fellow creators, you will shape Visuell’s development, ensuring technology and creativity work hand-in-hand.

    This role is perfect for those passionate about creative coding and technology, seeking an engaging, part-time, or hobby-level opportunity within a worker's cooperative focused on collective ownership and democratic decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the development and implementation of frontend and backend systems for our interactive online platform.

    • Build and optimize WebGPU-powered applications and performance-critical Rust components.

    • Develop custom shaders and graphic effects to expand Visuell’s visual capabilities.

    • Ensure seamless real-time audio and video integration.

    • Contribute to product design, aligning technology closely with the creative needs of artists.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Solid experience in frontend and backend web development, especially in interactive media environments.

    • Strong expertise in WebGPU and Rust programming.

    • Proficiency in shader development (GLSL, WGSL) and graphical coding.

    • Genuine passion for creative coding, live audiovisual performance, and interactive media.

    • Experience with MIDI integration, real-time video processing, or cloud collaboration tools is beneficial.

    • Testing new features in our step sequencer and scene manager, giving feedback on what feels intuitive (and what doesn’t).

    • Building and tweaking custom shaders that can be used in our live performance tool.

    • Collaborating on video loops and visual sets for upcoming showcases or community events.

    • Experimenting with MIDI mappings and control surfaces to enhance Visuell’s tactile workflow.

    • Creating simple, playful visual compositions to expand our library of demo content.
